RULES:
- Each regional club is encouraged to submit 1 basket for the contest (only 1 basket per club).
- The basket is limited in size to a maximum of 2’ x 2’ x 2’ and should be made of some type of wicker/straw
material. The size restriction is important, due to space limitations on the exhibition table, and bidder’s ability
to get the baskets home after the specialty. Baskets greatly exceeding the size limitation will be asked to withdraw.
- The contents or theme of the basket may be:
- Dalmatian related items
- Products, goods, services indigenous to the geographical area of the club
- The theme for 2008-Bluegrass Specialty
- The baskets will go on display with silent auction bid sheets adjacent to the conformation ring(s) no
earlier than the morning of the beginning of non-regular Dalmatian conformation judging but no later than noon on
the third day of Dalmatian conformation judging.
- Each club should assign a representative to set up and take down their basket each day, including the bid
sheet. DCA, the hotel, nor committee members will be responsible for theft or breakage.
- At the Awards Banquet, an announcement will be made and the auction will close, and baskets must be picked
up and paid for. The exception will be for the basket with the highest bid on the silent auction bid sheet. That
basket will be brought to the podium and live auction bidding will begin with the opening bid, the last written
price.
- The club sponsoring the basket with the highest bid, will be awarded 5 points toward the Governor’s Trophy.
